New IT Recycling Program: Recycling to Make an Impact

Potawatomi Ventures is thrilled to announce the launch of our new IT equipment recycling program! As a part of our commitment to sustainability, we have teamed with Digital Bridge to recycle our old electronics (e-waste) and give them a second life.

Digital Bridge is a non-profit organization in Milwaukee, WI that is dedicated to making electronics and internet service accessible to everyone. They collect electronic waste for free, refurbish what they can, and give it to those in need. They are dedicated to closing the digital divide, providing access to technology and essential digital literacy training for underserved communities.

“In working with Michael Randazzo, our leader for the recycling program here at Potawatomi Ventures, he expressed a desire to give directly back to the community in a way that we could see, feel and appreciate. We life-cycle equipment all the time, however, now we get to see directly where our contributions go and how they impact the lives of others. It is the perfect partnership,” Stated Micheal Barrett, CIO of Potawatomi Ventures. “Digital Bridge was the perfect choice for Potawatomi Ventures to give back. We can help prevent e-waste from piling up in a landfill while helping others at the same time.”

Last month, Potawatomi Ventures diverted just over 1,400 lbs of e-waste from ending up in a landfill; that amount of electronics is roughly the size of full-grown male Kodiak Bear!

“We look forward to making more donations in the future! Giving back is a part of what makes us brighter together,” said Barrett,
